The Western Development Commission (WDC), supports communities to grow, businesses to scale and plans for the future of the Western Region. It is the coordinating agency for the Atlantic Economic Corridor Project which is the brand that brings the regions from Donegal to Kerry together. Their shared goals are: balanced regional development, sustainable job creation and economic growth to support the projected growth in population and investing in public spaces and infrastructure that complements the quality-of-life offering along the Atlantic Coast.

OUR ROLE

As part of the Atlantic Economic Corridor Project, a pilot scheme to develop an Enterprise Hub Network across the region was funded and later expanded to include up to 400 hubs across Ireland to create a vibrant and connected network of hubs. Fuzion were tasked to develop a new brand for this new network and to support the communications activities around the launch of this project.

Fuzion conducted multiple focus groups with key stakeholders from each hub across the region to establish target audiences, key messages and to get a better understanding of what these hubs would like to achieve from this new network. From there, Fuzion worked closely with the Western Development Commission to develop thenew brand in line with the feedback from key stakeholders.. The result was: ‘Connected Hubs’ with the tagline ‘Transform Your Workday’.

To build SEO on the new Connected Hubs website, Fuzion wrote content and articles featuring hub managers and members across the region to highlight their stories and encourage others to avail of the network of hubs.

Fuzion also supported the WDC on the launch event of Connected Hubs in June 2021. This event was broadcasted live from one of the hubs in Mayo with Minister for Rural and Community Development, Heather Humphries and received national and regional coverage including RTE Six One, Irish Times, Irish Examiner, Sunday Independent, Midwest Radio, Western People, Irish Tech News, Silicon Republic and more.
