After lots of hard work, worries over exams and grades etc, students are about to leave the ‘nest’ and head off to college life. This new and exciting experience for them can be hard to deal with, especially when it comes to cooking and eating healthily as many will have no idea how to look after themselves. Just Cooking, a Cookery School based in Kerry, have introduced a student cookery course in their autumn season to help make their student life more enjoyable.
The objective of this course is to show how cheap and easy it can be to produce meals. Students will be offered step by step recipes, guidance and menu advice so they will be able to see exactly how food is cooked and learn new recipes, gain a sound knowledge of food, basic cooking techniques and some tricks of the trade.
Cooking will now become the last thing they have to worry about as they enter college life with their new kitchen confidence. They will be able to recreate those dishes over and over again so no more wasting money on getting expensive and unhealthy takeaways! Students can even increase their popularity by showing off their brilliant cooking skills to all their new friends.
Just Cooking was founded by Mark & Bernie Doe, who have over 20 years of experience. The school was set up to help teach people valuable and practical knowledge with fun and creative Cookery Classes.
Bernie is looking forward to the new course and believes it’s a great way to start students on the right foot. “We already have a wide range of cookery courses from kiddies to adult cooking, but wanted to develop something to cater for just students. Listening to feedback, especially from mums on some of our courses, we felt the need to prepare their kids for going onto Uni.”
Other inspiring cookery courses include Autumn Entertaining at Home, Fish Cookery, Vegetarian Cookery, Men Only and A Taste of Asia. All classes are limited to 8 people and take place in the comfortable, purpose built Just Cooking kitchen.
The Cookery School is located in Firies, Co. Kerry, which is only five minutes from Kerry International Airport and 10 minutes from both Killarney and Tralee.
