Dairy Farmers in Cork and Kerry to benefit from The Farm Store/ GEA Farm Technologies Partnership

Leading experts in farming practice and technological advances, The Farm Store, are pleased to announce details of a new partnership with GEA Farm Technologies (Westphalia Surge), which will see them offer full reviews of hygiene protocols to dairy farms all over the Cork and Kerry region.

Sean Cahill, Business Development Manager with GEA, who has spent over 20 years working in the dairy industry in Ireland, Holland and the UK, will work closely with The Farm Store to visit their customers’ farms to offer advice and guidance on how to maximise yields from their dairy parlours. Through milk sampling, dairy farmers availing of the new service from The Farm Store will be able to identify the source of mastitis causing infection on their individual farm. 

Specially trained in the Dairy Co. Mastitis Control Plan, Sean will also help farmers to:

  • Diagnose mastitis patterns from clinical mastitis and somatic cell count recordings and information.
  • Classify as environmental or contagious mastitis, or dry period or lactation origin.
  • Identify control shortfalls.
  • Implement targeted intervention.
