While other retail parks and shopping centres across the country are losing retailers Manor West Retail Park is defying the trend and growing. This is great news for the Tralee community as Currys and PC World will be creating up to 30 new jobs. Derek Rusk, Centre Manager, is thrilled with this achievement and says “We are delighted to have yet another world class retailer at Manor West Retail Park. At a time when unemployment is at an all time high it is great to see new jobs being created in the Tralee area and a large multinational showing great confidence in the region.”
Currys and PC World will be taking up residence in the 10,000 sq ft unit in the retail Park at Manor West. PC World Ireland is part of DSG Retail Ireland which, together with Currys, operates 28 stores across the country and is Ireland’s largest electrical retailer by turnover. Currys and PC World pride themselves on giving the customer a great experience by having one to one advice in store and top customer service while still offering the unbeatable prices.
Kieran Ruttledge, of Tralee Chamber Alliance is delighted with the news of the arrival of PC World and Curry’s and says “It is great that another international retailer has shown its confidence in Tralee by locating here. There is no doubt that Tralee is a great place to shop and we have a great range of shops available in Tralee. Having major retailers like Curry’s and PC World locate in Manor West Retsail Park certainly helps bring in more shoppers to Tralee and will give people yet another reason to shop and visit the town.”
Derek Rusk also puts the success of attracting and retaining top retailers down to focusing on a strategy of affordable rents & Proper Cost Management while maximising quality and positive initiatives which has helped tenants to weather the storm over the past number of years. The Service Charge has been reduced by 5% year on year and is one of the cheapest rates in Ireland .
Manor West Retail Park has also launched a fresh brand identity for the Centre incorporating new logos and colour schemes, a recently introduced multi-centre Gift Card and a continuous series of events and activities – all designed to enhance visitor experience, increase footfall and dwell time. Derek says “We continue to make a number of investments into Manor West and we feel this is really paying off as it is making a better shopping experience for the customers and the tenants”.
