EFM Ireland is delighted to announce the launch of their financial and business advisory services in Ireland. The company, which has been established in the UK for almost 20 years, aims to extend its expertise to Ireland to help the growth and development of Irish SMEs.
The EFM team of highly experienced Finance Directors and Business Advisors will provide practical and senior level commercial support to growing businesses across Ireland through offering flexible, out-sourced financial management and strategic support services.
The company was founded in 2000, by Chartered Accountants Gary Jesson and Tony Biddle, who saw first-hand throughout their many years of practice, that many excellent businesses fail because of poor financial management practices. Their founding goal was to provide affordable and flexible financial management expertise to small and medium sized businesses that are unable to afford the high cost of hiring a full time Financial Director. This strategy has proved highly successful and the company has experienced rapid growth over recent years.
Expanding the company to Ireland was seen as the next logical step for EFM, as they wish to bring their direct insight, financial expertise and exit planning strategies to Irish business. They hope to support business owners, in light of the current uncertainty that looms, with imminent Brexit changes on the horizon.
The EFM Ireland team is led by William Mundow – Group Managing Director and Finance Director. Originally from Meath, William has held positions internationally such as Chief Financial Officer for one of the world’s largest communications companies – Publicis Group in London – and brings with him a broad range of skills and experience to assist SMEs in Ireland.
William states “Focused strategy, planning and trusted financial management advice are the foundations for business success. At EFM we offer our clients these deliverables to help ensure their business development and growth.” He continued, “We are excited to work closely to support Irish business. Throughout our many years of practice in the UK, we have helped businesses thrive, from start-ups to established SMEs and multinationals. We hope to now effectively translate this experience in Ireland to support companies in maximising their potential at this opportune time.”
Áine Collins has recently been appointed Business Development Director at EFM Ireland. Áine is an entrepreneurial visionary leader with extensive experience for over 25 years as a qualified accountant, financial and strategic business advisor. She is also an experienced board director, policy advisor and former TD so understands the need for organisations to have clear focus, good governance and transparency.
Speaking at the launch Áine stated “Ireland ranks high within Europe in terms of entrepreneurship and I know that the services EFM are introducing will be of great benefit to small and medium businesses, many of whom may have considering a Financial Director as beyond their budgets. I know first hand, working closely with so many SMEs that it has never been so crucial in Ireland, for business owners to understand the importance of having specialist financial advice. As a country, we need to ensure the safeguarding and survival of our Irish SME sector – as these businesses are our grassroots connection to a successful and thriving economy.”
Áine added “At EFM Ireland, we are already working in partnership with our clients to develop, nourish and implement effective financial and business strategy to ensure protection, growth and efficiencies for business in Ireland. The EFM Ireland team are looking forward to introducing practical business solutions to even more SMEs in Ireland, working alongside these businesses whatever stage they are at.”
Finance Directors Patrick Lavelle and John Devaney are also senior members of the Irish team and will provide specialist business advice and financial support both in-person and online for their clients. They have worked with companies from a broad range of industries such as manufacturing, retail, technology and pharmaceuticals.
