Rising Stars from Rosemount Mulvey enjoy VIP Experience at FAI HQ Dublin Boys And Girls Team Given Star Treatment At Abbotstown

Twenty football fanatics from Churchtown experienced life as Ireland players at FAI HQ, as part of the association’s Rising Stars VIP competition.

In conjunction with Aircoach, the FAI’s official transport provider, the Rising Stars VIP competition was open to U12 FAI Club Mark clubs across the nation, with all entrants vying for a money-can’t-buy experience.

Rosemount Mulvey FC, led by five time League of Ireland Champion Richie Baker, were the selected winners. Over 20+ players and staff from the Dublin-based team were transported to Abbotstown in the same Ireland team coach Seamus Coleman and co. travel on to the Aviva Stadium.

Ireland U21 Head Coach Jim Crawford took time out from preparations for Ireland’s upcoming UEFA European Under-21 Championship Qualifiers against Türkiye and Latvia, to deliver an exclusive training session to the aspiring internationals.

The ex-Bohemians, Newcastle, Reading and Shels star, Jim Crawford, commented: “I was lucky enough to play for Ireland, and now I’m managing my country – but it all started for me at schoolboy level, with Rangers AFC in Terenure. Schoolboys and schoolgirls league football is the lifeblood of any national team, and I’m delighted we were able to give the players from Rosemount Mulvey FC a taste of the big time here at Abbottstown.

“It was great to see the excitement on their faces as they got off the Aircoach bus and put on their jerseys in the same dressing room as the likes of the Senior National Teams of the FAI. Hopefully they had a ball and we’ve whetted their appetite to push all the way to one day wear the green jersey.“

Kim Swan, Managing Director at Aircoach, added: “As transport provider to the Men’s and Women’s national teams, we were thrilled to partner with the FAI for this Rising Stars VIP competition. It’s great to be able to give these young players an unforgettable experience and reward the hard work that goes into youth development in Irish football. Hopefully one day we’ll be driving some players from Rosemount Mulvey to the Aviva in our team coach!”

The FAI and Aircoach continue to champion youth football, fostering the next generation of talent in Ireland.
